Bring attention to the genocide that is still taking place in Darfur, as well as other countries that are being victimized by genocide.  Also, to study why governments and political systems fail to take action to stop genocide.

Club History: Started in November 2005.  In 2006-2007 the club raised over $1,000 for Dimes for Darfur and sponsored a Leadership Development Forum for area high schools with Sponsorship from the NC Holocaust Foundation.  

2007-2008 Highlights: Congressman Brad Miller spoke to an assembly of students, teachers and private citizens – this February 20, 2008 event was organized by MHS-DAC, and was also reported in the N&O.  On May 17th, a Saturday morning event involving 280 Millbrook Students was organized by the DAC in conjunction with Stop Hunger Now, The NC Holocaust Foundation and the West Raleigh Rotary.  Over $6,000 was raised to pay for the equivalent of 50,736 high protein dehydrated  meals that were packaged in the MHS cafeteria on this Saturday morning. The PTA provided coverage of this event in its October 2008 newsletter, “Millbrook High Students Work to End Genocide and Hunger.”
