 Announcements for Students
New:

  • Seniors, the last day to purchase a personal ad for the back of the yearbook is November 17. If you have misplaced your handout with the instructions, you may check the school website or see the folder outside of room 1411.
  • Club picture day for the yearbook is November 14. All photos will be taken in the large gym after school. Please see your club advisor for your pass into the photo session. No one will be admitted without a pass. Your advisor will also be able to tell you the exact time that your club will be photographed.

  • Students, we have provided you with picnic tables during lunch.  Please respect the tables.  If we see any graffiti we will take the picnic tables away from you. Administration
  • Attention Seniors: The General Hugh Shelton National Student Leadership Scholarship at NCSU identifies and rewards America's most outstanding high school student leader. The scholarship, valued at $10,000 per year plus an annual $2,500 stipend, is to be used for external leadership experiences such as study abroad. The following website will provide a description of the scholarship, the criteria, and the application, which is DUE BY NOV. 5TH.
  • Yes, the bell schedule will be completely different.  Look for the bell schedules posted in your teacher’s classrooms.  It will be expected that you get to your PLUS period on time.  Your teacher will mark you tardy if you are late to PLUS.  A/B students will also be expected to get their final destination within an 8-minute time period or they will be marked tardy as well.
  • The National Achievers Society will be sponsoring their Fall College Tour on Thursday, November 16th, 2006.  They will be visiting Hampton University, Norfolk State University, and Old Dominion University.  This trip is open to all NAS member (grades 10-12) & MHS juniors and seniors that meet GPA and discipline requirements. The cost of this event is $60.  Student can pick up field trip forms and receive additional information by visiting rooms 2606 (Mrs. Baker), 804-08(Mrs. Munn), and trailer 17(Ms. Brooks). 
  • All National Honor Society members are reminded of the monthly meeting on November 1st, in room 248, at 2:30.Please remember to bring your dues and your commitment forms. The log books will be available for your entries. Please be on time.
  • The overall goal for PLUS is to raise grades and give students an opportunity to get extra help or to have extra time to complete their work during the school day.  Your teachers are committed to your success and they will do whatever it takes to help you achieve at high levels!  PLUS begins on Tuesday!!

  • HOSA Club is having a presentation on heart surgery Wed, Nov 1st by dr. John Zeok from Wake Med. Anyone interested in becoming a health care professional is urged to attend. Presentation will be held in room 3602 at 2:30pm
  • Millbrook Teenage Republicans will meet on Wednesday, November 1 at 2:30 in room 246; come take part in the political future of your nation. Refreshments will be served.
  • Students- if you are planning on taking the Dec. 2 SAT, then sign-up for an intensive 4 week review session starting this Sunday.  The classes will run from 6 - 9 pm on Sunday evenings and will take place on Nov. 5, Nov. 12, Nov. 19, and Nov. 26.  The cost for the class is $40.  Please sign-up this week in Student Services!
