Wake County Board Delays Graduation Project

In the April 21 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Board of Education agreed to delay implementation of the graduation project for 2009-10.

This means that the Classes of 2010 and 2011 will not be required to complete the graduation project.  Students who choose to complete the project will be recognized with a special cord at graduation and it will be noted on the student's transcript."

The board action follows the decision of the NC Department of Public Instruction to delay implementation of the graduation project and the introduction of state legislation to change or eliminate the graduation project.
