Dear Millbrook Students and Parents,
We welcomed 2428 students back to Millbrook this fall with 681 of them new freshmen. We had an amazingly smooth transition. Usually things like lunch periods, fire drills, and a multi-building campus can cause opening of school confusion for some students but this year our students handled these with ease. As you know we have had five early dismissal Wednesdays (students are released one hour early) and one early release day (students released at 12:00). I know your child has quality teachers in all of their classes. We as a staff are spending this time expanding and refining our teaching skills. Thanks to everyone who came to Open House mid-September. We can’t impress enough how important it is for parents to get a SPAN account, check Blackboard regularly, and read our website. These three things can give you great information about your child specifically and our school in general.
Our first school dance this year is Homecoming which is Saturday, October 3. Homecoming follows our school’s Spirit Week – hopefully your student will participate in some of these daily spirit filled activities which also includes our traditional Powderpuff football game. I appreciate everything you did to prepare your student for this new school year; this is going to be a great year.
