NEWS
The Healthful Living I teachers will be including the Abstinence Unit Marriage Curriculum as mandated by the NC Department of Public Instruction during both terms this school year. The purpose of this unit is to provide students with the necessary skills and information needed to make positive decisions in light of today's media influence, peer and social pressures, and the student's physical and emotional development. Throughout this unit, sexual abstinence until marriage is presented as the focus for instruction. The curriculum is available for preview in the Media Center. We encourage you to review the materials on the implementation of this unit.
Also included in the Health Education curriculum will be a lesson on suicide prevention. This will be in partnership with the counselors at Millbrook High. Should you have any concerns about this lesson, please direct those concerns to Ms. Stefanou (850-8817) or astefanou@wcpss.net or Mrs. King our principal.
