Personal Bio: Ms. Gillen relocated to Raleigh from NY in 1993 and has been a faculty member at MHS since August of 2001. She is the Department Chair for Foreign Languages, has a son Ian, MHS class of 2018 (!), two absolutely spoiled cats, is a fan of all sports, from tennis to NASCAR, and enjoys her free time riding motorcycles and pool-sitting!

Personal Bio:  teaches German I through IV at both Millbrook and Wake Forest-Rolesville High Schools. Mrs. Ganas began her teaching career in her home town of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin where she majored in German and Education. Mrs. Ganas has also taught in Haddon Township, N.J., Pittsburgh, PA and Winston-Salem, North Carolina before moving to Raleigh in 1998. Prior to coming to MHS in 2004-2005, Mrs. Ganas taught German 1, 2, 3, 4 and Advanced Placement for five years at Enloe High School. German Club and German Honor Society keep her busy after school. Outside of the school scene, Mrs. Ganas is an avid tennis player involved in USTA and other league play in Raleigh. She and her husband can also be frequently found on area golf courses with their son Scott and daughter Ellacyn.

 - was born in northern Illinois, and despite having move to Raleigh in 1999 to get away from snow and winter, will always be a Chicago Cubs fan. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Athletic Training and Spanish and practiced as an athletic trainer for over 12 years. Prior to teaching, she completed a postgraduate fellowship in orthopedics and sports medicine at Northwestern University, where she specialized in developing shoulder rehabilitation programs for pitchers and swimmers. Before moving to North Carolina, she was a Spanish teacher and athletic trainer at two high schools in Chicagoland. Ms. Carlson works as a youth leader with Grace Community Church and has traveled extensively on mission trips through Mexico and Europe. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, photography, music, cooking, and hanging out with friends and family, especially Natalie the WonderDog.

 Personal bio - has taught at Millbrook High School Spanish I through AP and presently teachers Spanish I and II. Mrs. Liggett began her teaching career in her beautiful island of Puerto Rico at the University of Puerto Rico where she graduated with a  Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education and later received her Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education from New York University. Prior to teaching at MHS, Mrs. Liggett has also taugh in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Illinois, Georgia and at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh. She serves as a member of the Millbrook Learning Community Core Team. Mrs. Liggett’s children, William and Marlina are graduates of MHS. Outside of school, Mrs. Liggett loves to dance and also spends much of her free time on the beaches of North Carolina and Puerto Rico. You can also find her cruising the Caribbean islands or enjoying the view from above, piloting a Cessna 152. She is a three-time gold medalist in figure skating in the state of New Jersey.

Personal Bio : Born in Argentina, Mrs. Ventura moved to US in the year 2000 with husband and two children - Marcos, 15 and Ana, 9. Mrs. Ventura is a nationally board certified teacher and is currently working on her graduate degree at NCSU.

MHS Activities: Mr. Richardson has served as a member of the 1&2 CT team, CT Leader for the 3,4 AP team, co-advisor to the Spanish Honor Society, the second language representative for the technology committee, member of and sub-committee leader for the presentation component of the graduation project committee, member of MLC, member of SST.

Personal Bio: Mr. Richardson enjoys traveling with family and friends to learn about other cultures and language.  He is learning to enjoy being a student all over again as he is currently taking continuing ed classes.  He would prefer to spend summer break at the beach with his dog or relaxing and just reading a book at home after spending the day working around the yard.

Personal Bio: Prior to becoming a wildcat, Ms. Norton went to UNC and Wake Forest Universities (she remains a dedicated Tar Heel fan- Go Heels!) where she studied Political Science, Economics, and French.    She spent 2 years in France, one as a student in Montpellier and the other as a teacher assistant in two French middle schools in the town of Bourges . In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, running, traveling anywhere she can, cooking, and reading by the pool during the summer.

Personal Bio : I teach Spanish in the Wildcat Academy (Rm 210.) I am North Carolina born and bred and attended Appalachian State University.  When not at school, I love traveling and spending time outside!  If I'm not soaking up sun outside you can find me shopping or reading a good book.

Personal Bio: Originally from the Pacific northwest, Alicia has taught in Colorado, Minnesota, South Dakota and North Carolina.  She has also spent time teaching English in Chile and Argentina where she studied Spanish At the University of Buenos Aires.  When she's not teaching or spending time with family, you can find Alicia enjoying the outdoors, running, hiking and/or camping.
